Background
Hathway Cable & Datacom Limited (Hathway) is one of the largest Indian Cable Broadband service providers who provides services to 9 million subscribers around the India. They also provide cable television services through its wholly owned subsidiary, Hathway Digital Limited, which is one of the largest multisystem operators in India.
Dilemma
For years, Hathway has tried their best to provide their users with satisfactory cable TV services through the HFC network, and they planned to attract more broadband users through the emerging FTTH solutions. However, the unexpected COVID-19 pandemic largely delayed the process of fiber network deployment and increase people's requirement for internet service. Thus, they urgently need a workable and cost-effective solution to help them deliver broadband service over the existing HFC network.
Solution
Hathway chose Sumavision's outdoor RMD devices (CC-8800-CP2) to help them deliver high-quality broadband service without significant changes in the existing HFC network. By using our DAA solution, they only need to replace devices in their fiber nodes, and therefore they finished the broadband upgrade project in several months, which largely decrease the expenditure. With 1000+ our RMD devices deployed, they have started premium broadband service with speed up to 80 Mbps in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, etc.
